I was introduced to Reef flip flops by my son, who liked his so much that when the toe thong came loose on one of them, he brought them to me to reglue. My repair job wasn't a success (the glue dried too hard and the thong was uncomfortable between his toes). That should have been a warning to me, but I bought a pair for myself because I needed something casual, comfortable and easy to put on at the cottage. They didn't last much more than a month of occasional use before the toe thong came out of the base on one flip flop and a side strap came out on the other flip flop. Since it was the same problem my son had with his Reefs, it's not just a one-off problem, but a bona fide construction problem, presumably related to the glue Reef uses to affix the thong straps to the base interior. Yes, they are comfy, but two out of two pairs in our family didn't last very long and weren't worth the money. There are other great brands out there that are equally comfortable, cost less, and last for multiple seasons.
