After traveling the world on the WQS Tour, Mundaka’s Kepa Acero was not finding what he needed in life. Rather than focusing on contests and being caught up in one thing in life, he decided he needed to explore his other interests in the world.
With very little knowledge behind the lens, Kepa purchased a few cameras, got an around the world ticket, and set off to document the people, cultures and waves he was visiting. It’s a completely different perspective, but one that has taken him on a “5 Waves, 5 Continents” tour to some of surfing’s most storied waves, the equivalent to mountaineers who climb eight 8,000 meter peaks. He has been recipient of Epic TV’s “Adventurer of the Year,” but the real reward has been the experience.
